TABS Deben FarmsThe farms soils vary from heavy marsh clay loams which lie next to the River Deben on the flood plain, and are broken up by a complex network of drains and ditches, which make for ideal habitat for wetland grazing wildlife and flora and fauna. The other spectrum of soils consist of the lightest blowing Heath and Crag sands - ideally suited for early vegetable production. The maintenance of lowland river marshland across the farm boardering the River Deben has helped to maintain a thriving population of wildlife, including Water Voles, Bitterns and Marsh Harriers. The heathland has been managed carefully to ensure the continued establishment of both the Stoney Mosscrop and the nationally scarce Corn Spurrey. The estate has the unique benefit of owning its own pub! The Ramsholt Arms provides the ideal end of day refreshment and relaxation |
